Celebrating the Life of . . .
Melinda Dianne Hines Brodman
Jan. 17, 1961 - Nov. 26, 2008
In Memory of Dianne
Dianne came into the world one fine special day,
And her new family gave thanks to the Lord as they prayed.
As she grew as a child, her spirit was endowed with perfection and charm,
And whenever she was afraid, she would always run to her daddy’s arms.
Her love for Jesus was abundant and full of grace,
That could make you smile or bring tears to your face.
Her voice was abundantly bold and clear,
Realizing that heaven is near.
Her spirit will always be in our hearts,
Reminding us we will never be separated from her or apart.

My feeble heart knows something of breaking -
Knows the sweet sadness of deepest longing
For the touch of fingers that are gone
For the lilt of laughter that is no more
For the heart that once gladdened my heart
But now has ceased its beating forever
Love escapes us with the violent burst
Of a frightened bird from the fowler’s snare
Leaving us clinging and grasping the air
Because my heart knows something of breaking
It whispers this soft promise to your heart:
In the silence, when your soul is still
Like a soft dove, born on softer wind
More precious than ever, Love will descend.
